This list of seven celebrities who've been stabbed include some insane and, sadly, some tragic stories involving famous people colliding with sharp, pointed objects. Many of these celebrities survived the attacks valiantly, such as "Game of Thrones" actor Sean Bean, who kept on drinking at a London bar after the incident. Unfortunately, some have also passed away as a result of being attacked, like "Harry Potter" actor Robert Knox.
While bar brawls, drunken disagreements and crazed fans account for some of these incidents, others are just plain weird. Like when actor Jimmy Smits grabbed a real knife rather than a prop knife while filming a stabbing scene for the series "Dexter." Why was there even a real knife on the set for him to grab? As some kind of prank? I'm laughing already...
We should note, as well, that stabbing should not be confused here with impalement, which is an entirely different and arguably even nastier form of attack in which someone is completely run through with a foreign object, such as a stake, or pole or spear. This sometimes happens to celebrities as well, but usually in movies, many of them featuring Mel Gibson.

Anwan Glover
Anwan Glover, best known for his gang member role on "The Wire," was hanging out in a nightclub in Washington D.C. August 3, 2014 when he claimed he was suddenly punched in the face and hit over the head. He was then kicked several times before he felt a sharp pain in his side, where he was stabbed. He was taken to the hospital, where he has since been released.

Ed Begley, Jr.
On February 17, 1972, Ed Begley, Jr. was nearly stabbed to death. The 22 year-old and a friend took a bus from Los Angeles to play poker at a card club called Normandie Casino in Gardena, CA. Near Compton, the driver stopped his bus and made everyone get off. A group of teenagers approached Begley and his friend and began to attack. Though the friend escaped, the gang beat and stabbed Begley until he was bleeding out. Only a passing car stopped the attack. When he arrived at a hospital, Begley's lungs were collapsed.
Sean Bean
Sean Bean, known for being murdered in many, many films, is apparently made of stronger stuff than his characters.
The "Lord of the Rings" actor (recently seen wearing a surprising amount of fur as Lord Eddard Stark in HBO's "Game of Thrones") was smoking a cigarette outside of Camden's Hill Bar and Brasserie with his lady pal Nadia Foster (or "April Summers" in the Playboy bunny and glamour modeling world) on Sunday, June 12, 2011.
A fellow walked by with some choice words for Foster. Bean confronted the guy on the lewd comments and followed the instigator down the street, but there was no immediate altercation, and everyone returned to their evening.
Later in the night, Bean went outside again for a cigarette break and his arch-nemesis returned! Bean was reportedly punched in the eye and stabbed in the arm with a shard of glass, but hey, at least he saved the halflings so they could continue their perilous quest.
Here's where it gets INTENSE, though... Bean didn't want to go to the hospital. Instead, he just got patched up a bit with a first-aid kit and then sat back down for another drink! Hey, just another day for The Bean.
Steve Buscemi
While in Wilmington, North Carolina, for the filming of modern classic "Domestic Disturbance," Steve Buscemi and Vince Vaughn were involved in a very real kind of disturbance. At around 2:30 a.m. on April 13, 2001, a fight broke out at the Firebelly Lounge in downtown Wilmington involving Vaughn, Buscemi and some disgruntled yokels. Apparently, Vaughn was being "rude" and a "jerk" in the bar (color me shocked) and pissed off some of the patrons in there. Some fiery words were exchanged, and eventually, a full-on fistfight broke out.
Steve Buscemi was reportedly trying to break up the fight between Vaughn and the good people of Wilmington when he got stabbed in the face, throat and arm. As one does. The cops eventually came and sprayed everybody down with pepper spray. (Helping!) Buscemi went back to New York to recover. Vaughn went back to LA to film another movie. (Hopefully a better one, though it'd be hard NOT to improve on "Domestic Disturbance.") If nothing else, the incident may have served as decent preparation for his role on HBO's occasionally stabby series "Boardwalk Empire."
Theresa Saldana
Theresa Saldana is maybe best known for her recurring role on TV's "The Commish," and also memorably appeared in the Martin Scorsese classic "Raging Bull" as the sister-in-law of boxer Jake LaMotta. Unfortunately, this notoriety also brought her to the attention of Arthur Richard Jackson, a man with some obvious mental problems.
In 1982, Jackson decided he wanted to get closer to Saldana, so he hired a private investigator to obtain her mom's phone number. He then called Saldana's mom and pretended to be Martin Scorsese's assistant, whom he said needed Saldana's residential address. (NOTE: If anyone ever calls you and says that Martin Scorsese needs your home address, they're probably lying.) Jackson used this information to camp out in front of Saldana's home, waiting for her, and eventually stabbed her ten times in the torso, in board daylight.
Jackson used a 5 1/2-inch knife; he stabbed her with such force that he actually bent the blade. It wasn't until delivery man Jeff Fenn heard Saldana's cries that he came to her rescue and subdued Jackson. Saldana underwent four hours of surgery and stayed at the Motion Picture Hospital for four months during her recovery. Jackson served a 14-year prison sentence and eventually died of heart failure at a British mental hospital in 2004.
Through her story, Saldana brought attention on the seriousness of stalking and she subsequently founded the Victims for Victims organization.
Jeff Chase
Actor and stuntman Jeff Chase was on the set of the television series "Dexter" for a somewhat rough scene with actor Jimmy Smits in which he gets stabbed by a prop knife. Regrettably, Smits somehow mistakenly got his hands on a REAL knife, which he soon thereafter used to actually stab Jeff Chase in the chest. (To be honest, Smits probably would have gotten away with it, too, if they'd already put up all that plastic sheeting Dexter typically uses. If only the ghost of James Remar had been there to warn him...)
Seriously, I know this was said already in the intro, but if you are filming a scene involving a violent prop knife stabbing, maybe don't casually leave actual knives laying around where they can be swapped out so easily. Just a thought. I'm not a Hollywood professional or anything.
Smits was so lost in the moment, he actually stabbed Chase numerous times before he figured the mistake. Dexter himself - actor Michael C. Hall - reportedly screamed "Stop! Stop! Stop!" at Smits, but it still took 16 seconds for him to realize what he was doing. That's ACTING. Good thing the guest star that season wasn't Daniel Day-Lewis, or the entire cast and crew would be dead.
Chase survived, but no thanks to Smits, who masterfully managed to keep his stabs right on target, despite missing repeatedly in rehearsal.
Robert Knox
Actor Robert Knox played Marcus Belby in the film "Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince." (Though not a featured player, you may remember him as the quiet Ravenclaw student whom Harry meets in Professor Slughorn's carriage.)
Robert was hanging out with his younger brother, Jamie, at a local bar in Sidcup, Kent, when they got into a scuffle with a man named Karl Bishop over a mobile phone. Bishop eventually left the bar, but soon came back, telling Jamie and his friends: "I'm going to slit your throat." Robert saw what was happening, ran over to defend his brother and, in turn, was fatally stabbed three times in the chest. (Bishop was soon after given a life sentence for the murder.)
Robert had been cast in the Potter series after appearing in TV shows "The Bill" and "After You've Gone," and was already signed on to appear in the seventh film.
Ricky Rivero
On June 13, 2011, actor-director Ricardo "Ricky" Rivero of the Phillippine variety show "That's Entertainment!" was stabbed in his home by a friend he met on Facebook. Yes, Rivero and Facebook buddy Ivan Ruiz agreed to meet up IRL, and Rivero brought the relative stranger home after meeting him in the city at 11 p.m. Kids, don't try this at home.
There are various reports about what happened next, but the common thread seems to be that Ruiz slept over at Rivero's place and at 3 a.m., he woke Rivero up by stabbing him. Which is not as pleasant to wake up to as sizzling bacon on the stove, but potentially even more effective. Ruiz then tried strangling Rivero with a towel, but this didn't work out so well, and Rivero got away. When he made it to the hospital, he found that he'd been stabbed 17 times.
Luckily, the stabs wounds weren't too deep and Rivero was soon in stable condition at St. Luke's Medical Center. Ruiz was taken into custody by police. Hopefully, some time away from society will teach him that Facebook is for POKING, not STABBING. (Sorry, couldn't help myself.)
Christopher Clanton
Christopher Clanton played the role of criminal Savino Bratton on the HBO series "The Wire," but on March 24, 2008, he got a taste of real crime at a social hall in Baltimore, Maryland.
A fight broke out about 2 a.m. at the city's Overlea Event Center; by all accounts, Clanton was just trying to get out of the way. He pushed past two men when someone started trying to fight with him and, eventually, he became the target of the crowd's wrath.
Police arrived at the scene and sprayed the assembled suspects with pepper spray, before discovering Clanton had been stabbed in the chest and... wait for it... the buttocks. The actor was taken to Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center and was quickly restored back to good health.
